WIND DREAMER'S BREEDING PHILOSOPHY |

All Wind Dreamer Labrador Retrievers and those bred to them, are x-rayed & OFA certified at two years+ of age. Eyes are examined by an AVCO annually & CERF normal prior to breeding. All have proof of FULL AKC registration, & bred by the actual owners listed on the AKC registration certificates. Wind Dreamer puppies are born and raised inside our home in a safe and clean environment where they are under watchful eye & early socialization - exposed to a lot of contact and play with our whole family as well as our other animals - including our two Dew claws are removed, puppies are micro-chipped for permanent identification using a Home Again™ Microchip - and puppies are wormed at 29 days, 39 days, and 49 days of age. Vaccinations are administered at 5 and 7 weeks of age. All our puppies are now DNA profiled BEFORE they go to their new homes. Inquiring puppy buyers are able to see for themselves the living conditions - inside as well as outside - that our puppies enjoy. It's in this environment that our puppies develop both physically & emotionally into happy, well balanced members of the family. BEWARE of Breeders that don't allow you to see the complete home environment the puppies & other animals have been exposed to for the many weeks/months of their lives! The inside living conditions the puppies have been raised in, can sometimes be more telling then the outside!
Wind Dreamer puppies are available for placement upon eight weeks of age - provided all puppies are on the same social and psychologically developed level. ALL Wind Dreamer puppies are sold under our Wind Dreamer Contract, on Limited Registration - with clauses in the Contract for spaying/neutering! Puppies shall be registered with the American Kennel Club under LIMITED Registration. Wind Dreamer puppies are sold as pets.
Owners of unaltered Wind Dreamer puppies/dogs under LIMITED Registration, will not be allowed to register any of that dog's offspring with the American Kennel Club!
Show potential puppies might perhaps be considered for placement, but ONLY to buyers that shall be required to show in AKC conformations events - such a puppy would be sold ONLY under VERY strict Contract terms, with some measure of co-ownership with Wind Dreamer! ONLY Wind Dreamer dogs that have competed in AKC conformations events, with the buyer following ALL terms of the Wind Dreamer Show potential puppy contract - might be allowed to perhaps produce offspring with AKC registration. A Buyer of a Wind Dreamer Show potential puppy must also belong to/join a AKC recognized Labrador Retriever Club, and remain a member in good standing for the life of this Wind Dreamer Labrador Retriever. Any buyer wishing to acquire a Wind Dreamer Labrador Retriever Show potential puppy - must inform seller up front BEFORE the puppy is sold to the buyer - the buyer MUST sign an additional Wind Dreamer Show potential puppy contract, prior to the Wind Dreamer puppy going home with the buyer!
Every Wind Dreamer puppy goes to their new home with a custom made "Puppy Guide" folder which includes information on puppy home preparation, the Labrador Breed Standard, health and safety articles, training and obedience articles, recommended reading list, crate training and housebreaking articles, five generation pedigree, photos of parents and puppies, articles on such topics as puppy socialization and training. Also included is the puppy's medical history as well as a copy of the puppy health guarantee and Contract of Sale.
Early puppy socialization and obedience training is VERY important. It is very much recommended that you continue your puppy's socialization around people & other animals, as well as enrolling in puppy kindergarten and obedience training classes with your puppy.
As a breeder, it is our responsibility to educate ourselves, as well as potential Labrador owners.
I strongly encourage you to research the breed, familiarize yourself with the different types of Breeders and give serious consideration to where you purchase a puppy, and with whom you are dealing with when purchasing a puppy. Not all puppy-mill type breeders are easy to spot from outside, in their front yard.
The conditions and environment the puppies have been raised in - shapes the puppies mentally & emotionally, as well as physically. |
